Lost Dutchman State Park

It’s neat how a scheduled departure can make you more appreciative of the things you’re going to miss when you leave. In this case, it’s camping at Lost Dutchman State Park with our great friends Sarah and Colin!

I love how some folks just click like the group photoed above do. I have to give the credit to Sarah and Z for pulling us all together of course but there have been many a BBQ since the first excursion. It’s these kind of friendships that you wish for no matter where you find yourself. Friends that share some of the same habits, humor, sense of reason and island time are a treasure. It’s these people we want to be with when we are getting ready to get ready. =)

If you live in the Phoenix valley and haven’t visited the Lost Dutchman State Park or stayed at the camp ground then you’re missing out. This campground is easily one of the cleanest campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at. It’s so well kept that even their trails are groomed. They have clean facilities with running water, showers and water bottle filling stations. Whether you are in a tent or a camper, the pull through sites (numbers 31 thru 70) are ideal because they provide lots of room to move around or park extra vehicles if you brings friends. ^_^

En route to the Lost Dutchman State Park you’ll pass a museum and a ghost town, both of which are also worth a visit if they are open.
